Welcome to Saplings Class!

We are a mixed Year 4 and 5 Class, taught by Mrs Dean and supported by Mrs Reid, Ms Jago and Miss Lewis.

We enjoy learning together and everything we do is underpinned by our curriculum values of compassion, determination, aspiration, honesty and responsibility.

In addition, Saplings are responsible for the library and many of the children take on the role of librarians ensuring the library is well stocked, organised and inviting.

Home Learning

This will go home every Friday and the expectation is that it will be completed to an age appropriate standard and back in school every Thursday. Please see Class dojo for the weekly learning letter.

Spellings

Will go home with your home learning and will be tested every Friday. Please ensure you spend some time at home with your child learning these. The spellings are a mix of common exception words, words to follow a particular pattern and revision words.

Multiplication Tables

We revise and learn a new times table every week and we will do a test on this table every Thursday. If the children get all of them right, they move on to another times tables and continue to revise these throughout the year. Year 4 have a statutory Times table assessment in June 27
