“One Community where we cultivate,
grow and flourish together”

At Berry Pomeroy Parochial CE Primary School we aim to provide each child with the opportunity to fulfil and achieve his or her potential within a stable, safe and caring Christian environment.

We endeavour to do this by promoting a curriculum that inspires the love of learning by developing a sense of purpose and enjoyment. We encourage each child to develop as a responsible individual and show respect for others and the environment. The school welcomes children from all faiths and backgrounds.

Our mission statement reflects the importance we place on the many relationships within our school community. Working alongside parents and the community, we aim to prepare children for a happy and successful future in a welcoming environment where everyone is valued as part of our school community.

Our School Aims

At this school we aim to:

Provide a stimulating, creative, broad and balanced curriculum that meets the learning needs of each child.

Offer experiences that will challenge our children and help them to develop enquiring minds and positive attitudes towards learning and an appreciation of the value of aspiration, effort and achievement at all levels.

Promote self esteem and confidence in their capacity to learn and foster respect and care for themselves and others.  Develop a positive learning partnership with families, community, the church and the wider world.

Promote high standards of behaviour by modelling a set of moral values, on which to base their own behaviour.

Provide a happy, stimulating and secure environment where children feel valued, secure, loved and cared for and where opportunities are inclusive and equal for all.

Consider the spiritual, moral, social, emotional, physical and cultural development of each child.

Encourage children to develop healthy lifestyles based on informed choices.

Develop and foster individual gifts and strengths, creativity and imagination.

As a church school at the heart of the village community, Christian values underpin our work, our relationships and our commitment to ensure equality of opportunity for all pupils. We will strive to make our school welcoming, open and friendly with a positive Christian ethos where the views of the children and parents are valued.

Our local church is Berry Pomeroy Church.

Reverend Debbie regularly leads worship.  She is supported by Tony Gregg and Reverend Jane.  Open the Book, a bible story group are regular visitors to our school.

Our School Prayer

This is our school.
Let peace dwell here,
Let the rooms be full of contentment,
Let love abide here,
Love of one another,
Love of mankind,
Love of life itself,
And love of God.
Let us remember
That, as many hands build a house,
So many hearts make a school.
